I MUST READ BETWEEN THE LINES.

I must read between the lines.

To find the reasons why

So when you say, "I'm sorry",

Look me in the eye

So that I might know

If I caught you in a lie

RISK

If you wish to achieve

The greatest love

It involves taking a risk

And like achieving

The greatest of goals

Sometimes it means a great risk

But nothing worth having

Comes easy or risk free

YOU BLEW SOFT BREATH

You blew soft breath

On the embers of my memory

And breathed new life into me

Resuscitating a redundant heart

Until I unlearned how to fear

I unlearned how to doubt

I unlearned how to exist

Then I felt the warmth of the sun

Once more on my face

I felt the transformation

From loneliness to loved

Uncanny Love Tales – (16) Fate Will Out

Josh and Sophie had been together for a significant amount of time, but had recently separated and when it happened, the only people who were surprised at all by it, was them.

It was the general consensus among those who knew them that there were never two more incompatible souls to share a life than they.

In fact, the couple had spent much of the previous two years constantly bickering and arguing.

The problem was that Josh was too laid back and easy going for Sophie, who was very pushy and way too ambitious.

In short Josh didn’t want to climb the greasy pole and Sophie didn’t want to settle for less than the best.

Kay had been in love with Josh since they were at school, she was in the year below, and she had fancied him like mad, but she could never seem to catch his eye.

So, he ended up with Sophie and Kay married Colin, who turned out to be the most boring man in Britain, so she divorced him after a year.

She had been pretty much on her own since that, not that she hadn’t tried to find someone else, she had, but the problem was they never had Joshua’s smile, his sense of humour or indeed his cute arse.

So, she had finally resolved that if she could not have Joshua, she would end her days as a singleton that was until one day when fate took a hand.

Joshua and Sophie’s divorce became final and part of the divorce agreement was that they should sell the house that was once the marital home, and of the two of them it was Joshua who was tasked with selling it.

Which was why on a fateful sunny spring morning, Joshua walked into an Estate Agent’s in town where the senior partner was Kay.

WHAT WILL BECOME OF OUR DESIRE?

What will become

Of our desire?

Will it take us?

Ever higher

To heights only Gods

Dare to aspire

What then

Will it just expire?

Or will it perish?

By ice or fire

Or will it deflate

Like a leaky tyre

What will become

Of our desire?

I SHOULD HAVE SAID

I should have said

You’re the highlight

Of every single day

I should have said

I loved you

In every single way

I should have said

What I was feeling

What resided in my heart

I should have said

I love you

Right from the start

I should have said it

But the words

Stayed in my head

I should have said

I love you

But I said “hi” instead

EVERY SINGLE DAY

Every single day

“I love you” you should say

But it goes unsaid,

And too often we are glib instead
